One big reason the fuel costs for motor vehicles is less in America than the UK and other places in Europe has more to do with the taxes put on it. Tax on fuel in the USA does not go to the general fund as it does in the UK. Most of the tax in the USA on fuel is used for the highways and other infrastructure needed to move vehicles around. A very Small part of the tax goes to other things but a very Small amount per gallon. Also the amount in a gallon there may not be the same as in the States I am not sure of that though. Canada uses the imperial gallon and that is more than the US gallon. The UK probably is the same as Canada.

A US gallon is different from the UK gallon........
A US gallon is roughly 6 pints, compared to our 8 pints.
That's why your price looks so cheap!!
It's still a lot cheaper over there.

Hey dont tell Blair to attack Saudi Arabia. You will be paying one and half times of what you are paying now. Its just that oil companies in ur place will report $593854 billion profit even though they shut down production for a month.

I pay about $2.80 (American) here in Texas. The highest I have ever paid was $2.99 per gallon and that was right after Hurricaine Katrina.

$7.10!!! Damn that's brutal! In Northern California, its about $3.09 regular - $3.29 premium. Don't know what that equals over there. Peace. I'm out.
