have a friend. start by stopping short passes from him. (say 1.5 metre apart)
move on to longer distances with different strength of pass. you can also do this by kicking the ball against the wall, and stopping it as it returns.
from low short passes, move on and have your friend throw the ball up in the air, and down to you to stop, vary the height, and strength of the ball.
as you progress , you can hv your friend cross the ball for you to stop from afar.
little practices above, will help you have better ball control.
of course, practice helps you get better.
ps: if you dot hv a partner, you can just throw the ball against a wall, and stop it as it returns.
