i use my mobile nokia 3220 to access internet on my pc through a data cable.i happened to download yahoo messenger on my pc.but not able to connect when i am actually using it.what should be the connection preferences?

First you have to check whether your P.C. is compatable for the version of Yahoo Messenger you have downloaded. If it is compatable, the only reason why it is not working can be
due to some corrupt yahoo files. You should cancell all the yahoo files from your system and uninstall yahoo messenger.
Once you deleted the files and uninstalled the Messenger, restart
your computer and downlod appropriate version of yahoo messenger compatable to your system from yahoo website.
By doing this your problem will be solved.

If you have a functioning internet connection, Yahoo messenger detects the settings automatically.
My connection preferences is set to no proxies.
tools > internet options > Advanced > Reset
For windows XP
It might help.

you will go in internet explorer-tools-reset the internet settings . Then you can access yahoo messenger on your pc.

IT IS POSSIBLE THE YAHOO FILES UYOU INSTALLED ARE CORRUPTED, SO YOU SHOULD UNISTALL THE YAHOO FILES YOU'VE INSTALLED INITALLY, THEN REINSTALL THE FILES. THIS SHOULD CORRECT ANY PROBLEM YOU ARE HAVING.

disable all proxies in the settings and try..
