Through the lens of reincarnation, soul mates are seen as very bonded souls who choose to unite as a couple again and again. They have shared many lives and experiences and both wish to continue the relationship as different people. The deep understanding that exists between these two souls is a bonus that helps both partners grow and develop. They help each other reach their full potential more easily than first time partners. Soul mates can also be parents or children, friends, relatives, coworkers. The closeness, the soul bond isn't restricted to romantic relationships. Reincarnation tosses the theory of random selection and chance reproduction out of the window. Instead, it teaches that children are born to specific parents for a reason - karma and familiarity draw them together yet again.

What anna said is correct. Once we settle our debit -Credit We apart. To settle debit and credit it may take 7 days or 7 years of 7 lifes or 77 lifes. It all depends upon karma.
Don't worry it is not necessary that we shall meet in human form again. It could be any form. Like Snakes, Lizards, Earthworm....

I don't know weather the relationship last for seven births or not but i am sure the after effects of getting married lasts for seven births

It is not true. Do you remember what relations did you have in the last birth? When you do not remember any thing in the previous birth how God will create such births to you? Only one precious life is given to us precious relations so enjaoy the life fully and happily. That is God"s wish.

it might be true..
though its just a belief but no belief arises just like that..
there might be a logic behind it..
our ancestors might have had some reasons of saying something like this..
why is it not 5 yrs.. or may be nine yrs..
its seven coz its 7 years with a logic which i dont know..
and infact nobody today knows..
those who claim they know are lying..
so dont think sooo much..
