Not personally, but I feel sorry for the poor bastards who live anywhere near the Notting Hill carnival. They daren't go out because their property would stand a good chance of being broken into, and while they stay at home, all the ne'er-do-wells will be selling drugs on their doorstep, urinating in their garden, and making deafening noise until who knows when (despite what the police or the media will have you believe), oh, and when it's all over each day, the council will make sure that you wake up nice and early so that you can watch them cleaning up all the shite that's been left absolutely everywhere. And THAT'S some people's idea of a nice bank holiday weekend.....?????

My partner and I have just been made redundant and we do not usually go away on Bank Holiday weekends, but this one we are going to have a journey to the seaside to look at what we are doing for the rest of our lives. So will be to South England like Devon or Somerset.

I'm getting out of Manchester for the weekend! It's the most wonderful city in the world (and well worth a weekend visit) but it's Pride weekend and (even for a gay man like me) it can all get a bit too much!

So no doubt I'll sit in Motorway traffic all weekend instead!

I hate Bank Holidays - thank god I'm in Asia and I don't have to feel bad because I'm not going to be stuck on the motorway!
