First, you must be sure about what do you want to do, and if so, go for a medical treatment that if well performed will include:
- A complete psychological test in order to evaluate and diagnose what is going on with you. If you fully apply to go further in the treatment, then you will start with hormone therapy.
-Hormone therapy: will add feminine hormones and almost completely stop the production of male hormones. Your skin, voice and hair distribution will change, as well as many of your male features.
-If as a result of the concomitant psychotherapy and medical evaluation, after 2 years you still want to become a woman, then first you will go for breast implants, some other retouches and at the end, the castration and completely remove of your penis. A plastic surgery will create with the tissue of your penis a new vagina, and the external appearance of feminine vulva. Point of no return.
Regarding what to do about your marriage, well: if is always difficult to deal with a divorce, then just figure out how things are going to go when considering a change of sex.
I assume that unless you have chosen to be bisexual, then it's been some time that you are not in such a good terms with your wife. The situation is more critical when children are involved.
For the best way to face your situation, I suggest you to visit a psychologist if possible specialized in transgender operations or treatments, and fully explain your situation.
I've known several cases like yours in my practice and private life, and is not an issue to take so easily.
If you are really sure of what you want, then I hope you do have some money saved, since the procedure can only be done in certain specialized centrum and is expensive.
In order to keep on being honest with you and your wife, just go for a divorce before starting your hormonal treatment if that is what you have decided since changes starts pretty fast and they are evident for your entire environment.
A lot of different shadows in the palette of becoming a woman are possible, that is something that you have to find by yourself or better with the help of a psychotherapist.
Depending on the country you live in, you will have the chance of changing your identity and choose a new feminine name. Usually it is highly recommended for common sense reasons to change from environment, place and start over your life as a new born woman.
Furthermore, confrontations with your family members (mother, father, etc) are impossible to avoid. It is also necessary to take all this factors in consideration to have an open conversation and finally be accepted for what you are.
So, as you can understand, is a difficult and long procedure, complicated but very rewarding for the person that needs a real change or gender.
Traditionally the best centers were located in London; probably nowadays you will be able to find some more in Internet or just getting in touch with some other transsexuals.
Sincerely,
Fro

Wow! never thought I would see this question why would you marry a woman if you wanted to become a woman yourself you should be honest with your wife also these feelings are not new you've known about this for sometime but if you dont tell your wife shes going to be hurt and if you have the means to become a woman then by all means have at it maybe you can start by checking for web sites for information or just go talk to your family doctor and definitely a psychologist.

i am 17 years old, and if ever you become my father that would really break my heart! why did you marry her in the first place? that would really hurt you know, but if that is what you really wanted, then i don't think there is a need for you to pretend to your wife. i just hope you made the right decision, sir! think about the concequences of your actions first. you can still look upon God. it's still not too late! i'll be praying for you!

Thailand is famous for having a great sex change industry. In america you have to go through a great deal of psychotherapy first, possibly reasonable because you don't want to make a decision like that rashly...
