honestly, your best bet is to get a larger vehicle if you plan on sleeping in it. Two reason's for this, 1) its a lot more comfortable, (know from experience) 2) find a place that is open 24 hours. A place like a Walmart parking lot or a very busy area. Don't park on the side of the road or in a place where your car is the only one. Stay away from North or Downtown Miami when you park. Not a good place to spend the night on the street. Or, you could try the airport parking lots but you have to pay inside a parking garage. Either way, stay away from empty or overly dark areas. Have a good one.

No, it's not safe to park anywhere you want. Some cities hire people to drive around to posted no parking lots & report to a tow trucking company a car is in one of these lots. The vehicle is towed & you are out some money. Not a fun way to travel. Try to ask a travel agent about really low cost hotels, bed & breakfasts, hostels in the areas you are travelling. There has to be a better solution than taking a chance sleeping in your car.
