Do you think this would deter people from living their lives on benefits? It would help the community in more ways than one I think!

Everybody else has to work for a living so why the hell can't the dole bludgers work too. Doing community work would be a good thing, but they come up with excuses like.... I have an injury or I don't like that job. We have to get hard on them and there wont be so many dole bludgers that the tax payers are paying for.
They might even get a bit of self esteem and self worth if they earned their keep.
It's our governments fault for allowing it.

Yes that is definitely a good idea. They might even get noticed by an employer or build up employable skills while doing it.
However what about the old or infirm???
One idea would be that the elderly could help run community day cares or man call centers!!! That would help lots of people.

I think so, the government should go back to the days of F.D.R and make people do public works to earn their support. By doing this people legitimately earn the support they receive. Plus it allows for them to keep busy and not sit around doing nothing. This is not to say that there are not people who have legitimate handicaps who cannot work due to physical ailments or age. Those people should receive the help automatically.
