How long have you been in the job, only a few days, right ? You could wait for a few days more. Weren't you given any responsibilities, duties, schedules...?? Sounds like a job of an office assistant or the like. But, If that is really your job, then watch yourself fall slowly into this depression and anxiety of ''what do i do next''. If you are comfortable with sitting in one place, doing absolutely nothing, and not being noticed at all, well, sounds like a great job. But if you are someone who wants to be up and about, doing things, appreciated for work done, then you better be putting your terms straight and just get off from this place before you feel terrible.
I had a similar experience, where I would sit hours staring at the computer, to make matters worse, my boss was horrible. No work, criticisms (personal and vulgur), and this feeling of purpose in being in that office was lost. To make matters worse, his office was sooo large with this awful flourescent green carpet, and I would feel nauseated practically every day sitting that way. Reading newspapers meant that I am not doing any work (but there wasnt any work). Attending calls, would make him stare at me decisively whether its a personal or an official call. I got out of there before I went nuts. I really did go nuts, by doing whatever I want, probably I was trying to challenge him to come and question me...on what the hell was i doing. I would even bring in lunch or breakfast and eat right out in front of him. That was my way of showing him how boring he was and his office was. And in a way, you can say i was really dying for attention, as a person employed with certain duties. And then I got out. I had a choice, I had an MBA, and I wasnt really there cos' I was broke or I really needed the job. But I joined cos' the organization was a good one, a leading automobile company. But I was placed under a man who was handling a particular division. I had a choice to get out, but get out by showing them how sick their office environment was. Photocopying ? I used to photocopy bits and pieces just so that I felt I was alive.
Thinking back, I should have sued him (for several things I havent mentioned here).
good luck.

Evidently your employers don't talk to each other. So surf the web, look busy and collect your pay check! You may have it made! :-D
Or: Rewrite every piece of information their company has and then bind it at "Kinkos" & when someone finally asks you what you are doing... tell them, "Applying for a promotion!"

it's called come-and-waste-your-8-hrs-a-day
-and-i-will-pay-you job.
or don't-do-anything-trying-to-be
-a-smart-***-cos-i-just-need-you
-for-decoration-only job.
i was in the same situation as you in previous job, then obiviously i quited! even the amount of salary couldn't cover the wasted time of my life which is pretty much 8 hrs a day, which is 1/3 of a day.
so i suggest you wait for next few months and if your situation doesn't change, find a new one.
