Maybe because you're paranoid or concious about something... Or just cautious about the things that are happening to you in your life... Be more relaxed and carefree and try to enjoy your life!

You may have had some traumatic event when you were a child that causes you to be a bit jumpy or startled at times. Try to think back in your childhood to see if there was something that caused you to be scared or afraid. Like someone always trying to scary you or domestic violence that may have took place in the home or you witness a horrible event.
Therapy may help you figure out the root to your problem. If you have health insurance you can see which facilities you can choose from, if not there are always free counseling services through the community or a local church may offer free counseling as well.

It may be PTSD - post traumatic stress disorder which can be caused by traumatic events such as abuse, rape, car accidents, etc. Vets (of war) suffer from this from gunshots etc and I suffer from it as well. It is an increased startle response. If none of the above applies to you, it could be that something just happened to you once that scared you so badly and suddenly that it has stayed with you - even the tiniest things make me jump or cringe or move - scary movies, doors slamming, someone coming in room or apartment quickly with no notice. It really gets annoying though sometimes. If you do or did suffer from one of the above, therapy may help so you can talk about these things. To read more, just search the web for PTSD. :o)

I am exactly the same. I met my present husband only 9 years ago and told him I was jumpy and he used to just appear at my side when I was say in the kitchen and make me jump. I jump at little things all the time.

have you been abused in any way shape or form in the past or present? loud noises, slamming doors, loud music, children screaming all signs of post tramatic stress disorder and they all make you jump at the slightest thing. you can go to your dr and ask to be put on some type of anti-anxiety pill like adivan, clonazapam or xanax that will help you with your nerves

Maybe you are hyper jumper.
But i like a person who get easily bother or annoyed at little things. Theres nothing wrong with that.

Many people thinks its a disease or something that need to be curbed but its not, they only think so cause they cant stand people who are a hyper jumper. For me im cool with a jumper.

It's a psychology issue. I have the same problem too. Little things can scare the heck out of me. It's normal and many people share your experience too!
