hello, there is someone in my life who always turns the conversation around when we talk about anything, what I mean is that it usually always ends up with her explaining things to me and I feel really put down, I do try to put my own input in but she always has an answer for everything, even on obvious topics. This is someone I have to see at least every week or so, so I need help on how to deal with her the hours I see her and her daughter is the same way!

Never take it heart .. Some people just need to be able to voice and be heard.

is what this person saying accurate? Many times a "know it all" is just reflecting what you can not see yourself- and this is very irritating. Question do you run to this person for answers the rest of the time? Then you are giving them licence to be the way they are. Sometimes in order to find the answers as to how to deal with other people we have to look at ourselves.

well since you "have to see" this person i would not ask them anything. ever!!

but if you want to be the same way...just read up on some topic (religion, politics, science, dogs, cars, movies, etc...) and bring it up next time. then ask questions that you already know the answer to. if that person only gives opinons, then you can offer facts. you may even correct them.

make sure you really understand the subject. otherwise you might come out looking very ignorant. if they dont know much of your new topics you may notice that they will want to change the subject to steal your opportunity to shine.

but let me tell you this...if you can, avoid this person. its obvious you dont like them.

I think you should let what she says go in one ear and right out the other and each and everytime she starts change the subject and if that doesnt work when she does start up say oh dang look at the time I gotta run talk to you later and mean just that MUCH LATER.

Try saying to her "Thanks for your opinion" If she tries to take over the conversation again, simply say"Thanks , but you've already told me what you think".Continue to do this until she gets the hint and starts to feel uncomfortable that you are the person that does not need her opinion. Interrupt her if you must. Don't let her control things.Think of her as a bad little girl that is trying to get attention.

i have the same problem with my gf.
i adopt a kind of technique to bit her, and until now over a year it has always worked.
during talking, let her talk talk and talk, sunner or later somewhere in time she will be tiered of talking, and mostly talking alone, when you see here tried with out an thing more to say, take your action, say only one short sentence in which in it you tell all the information, it must be a good quality sencnre, at at time she will have no more energy to replay the argue back and you will end up winning the argument

Let her talk a lot and ignore what she is saying. At some point she will ask you smth and then simply reply her "ahh, I thought there is no need for me to answer, since you know the answer to this already".

whenever the person cuts in and puts you down, just stare elsewhere while the person is talking. listen and reply with brief phrases like "uh huh" or "yea, i know" or whatever. make it seem like you don't really care, cause u don't.

Give her a good whoopin! Whoop her in front of everyone! Yeah! Whoop her *** and then laugh at her in front of the whole town. Then smash her face in a pie.

Just say something like... "I'm glad you have all the answers to the questions I don't ask." But say it really sweetly... maybe she will get it.
