Girls, do you douche before sex so you'll smell nice down there and just how often should women douche?

First of all if you have to douche in order to get rid of smell; then something's definitely wrong!!! Either you have poor hygiene, or a venereal disease. Normal vaginal discharge is either scentless or has a slight yeasty smell. If your vagina smells foul, fishy, or rotten; then go see a doctor.

And it is recommended by most gynecologists for women NOT to douche. The vagina is self cleaning; so biologically there's no need for a douche. And it's also been found that the vaginal discharge has natural antibodies in it that protects it from harmful bacteria and viruses. So by douching before sex, you’re increasing your chances of contracting a STD. And you're disrupting your body's natural chemistry as well.

douching isn't good for you. it causes driness and all sorts of stuff. Also, if when a guys goes down, he's not gonna wanna taste that. Just keep yourself clean. If you are gonna douche the only time it's really recommended is right after your period. That's the only time it's really needed. Don't get the fragranced kind. Just the natural kind w/vinegar. You actually clean naturally down there. When God created us, he probably didn't intend for us to be shooting fragranced liquid out there lol... so women area actually created so that our vaginas cleanse by the discharge we produce. Just wash w/regular soap in the shower or that summers eve wash cause it's more gentle on the area.

ha ha ha... im a male answering this...... thank you college class "human sexuality".... you should not douche it completely ruins the bodies perfect natural envronment in that area.... and you should definately not douche to prevent pregnancy as that can actaully speed up the process by pushing the lil spermies further in the vagina.... look at it like a giant water slide to your final destination.... if you are concerned with odor then i would suggest that you use the feminine wipes that you can buy at any walmart... just do it right before sex and it will be fresh and pretty smelling.... without all the damage!!

If you are healthy and clean you will smell nice without douching. I never douche and I have had dozens of guys tell me how nice I smell and taste.

most is 2x week, although i would suggest once a week bc too often causes too much vaginal dryness leading to pain, soreness, and uncomfortable sex (not to mention you feel it for the rest of the week). just go and buy a feminine wash designed just for the vagina, just dont put it inside. you can alsu use a baby or feminie wipe down there right before. make sure that if you oral, make sure he mouth is brushed right before to get rid of harmful bacteria that can give you so many down there problems or infections. also, use a good lube that isnt a protrolium jelly based- that stuff isnt that great for your downthere helth either.

douching upsets the natural ph balance of the vagina. also removes it's natural juices and secretions and can leave it more prone to infection. vagina is an aqquired taste but once you learn to taste the subtle differances in each, it's really a joy to sample
