What success? All but a very few are losing money consistently. The ones that work like Southwest have the fastest turnaround of flights arriving and leaving the gate, the lowest turnaround of employees. Southwest uses one type of aircraft...the 737 which drastically reduces maintenance and support costs not having to support many different aircraft. Pilots hired must already be certified to fly the 737 reducing training costs. They have been sort of like the McDonalds of teh airline industry. Being efficient, pleasing staff and customers, and offering the lowest prices.
