I've got a Toshiba Qosmio G25 AV513, so it's still relatively new and it was pretty expensive. Anyway, it hasn't really given me any problems until a couple of days ago. It just shut off on me. I'm not really sure why, and all I know is I was watching TV in media center both times. I don't think I was abusing it that badly though. Anyway, it won't turn back on for a few minutes, and then when it does it says the battery is low. I hardly even unplug it though. So that makes me think something may be weird with the battery. I also do kinda abuse this comp too though, it's almost always on. So does it sound like a battery problem or just like I should be more careful with this computer? It was $3,000 less than a year ago, so I'm hoping it doesn't crap out for a really long time. Anyway, any help or input is appreciated.

When it shuts off it's a pop sound in my headphones, almost like it shorted out. And all the lights go off, even the ones that are usually on when it's off. Anyway, I'm running it on it's battery right now, so hopefully that helps something.

Did i just hear less than a year? Guess what.. you've still got a magical thing called warranty! :)

Call up toshiba.. complain your *** off and you'll get your battery replaced.

otherwise something else might be overheating .. like a cpu or motherboard...

In WARRANTY > complaint right away

pretty much possible that batteries r weak
> but that's another issue

i believe it does not behave alright, even when u run the notebook on power, correct
1. check if power adaptor is working fine
& also batteries r getting charged
2. behavior is sorta funny, guess some component shorting or statics ... only a service fella can fix em

u seem apologetic abusing it
yet u seem 2 regret abusing it

give due treatment to the notebook !

The computer being on won't affect the battery on a desktop. The battery only powers your ram while the computer is off. Probably has a bad battery if you're getting a message tating so, but may have a power supply or other problem causing the computer to shut down.

if you run it on the power cord and nothing goes wrong then its the battery, otherwise you have a audio problem that means a new motherboard in the machine.
