you still can get pregnant when on your period.beside your run a higher risk of getting infections if you are sexually active when menstruating and that is because the cervix is open in those days. usually the entrance of the cervix is closed with what is called the mucus plug but not during your period. If what you are looking for is to postpone a pregnancy you can do a search on a method that is called the Billings method. I been on it for over 3 years and i love it. it has a 99.9 percent of accuracy and its very safe. God bless you

Some people have become pregnant from having sex on their periods... not a good idea for birth control. Every woman ovulates at different times and sperm can live up to three days.

Absolutely NOT... the interior of the vagina is like a nice comfy hotel for the lil spermies.... if the time is not right then they will just wait there till it is....
to be a lil more scientific sperm can live in the mommy parts for days after ejaculation.. in many cases it takes daysfor the sperm to even reach the egg.... that is a long way for those lil guys to swim, especially when they have no eyes and only half of the chromosomes (spelling)... but you should deffinately not use that as birth control...

go ahead if you like it. Birth control is something that prevents. but during the period it's not even possible so there's nothing to prevent any way. you should call it safe sex instead.

SURE IF YOUR PLANNING A FAMILY; EVER NOTICE HOW HORNY A WOMAN GETS AT THAT TIME OF THE MONTH; I KNOW YA DO; HERE'S THE (NO BRAIN-ER) IT'S BECAUSE HER BODY IS PRODUCING HORMONES LIKE YOUNG MEN PRODUCE WOODIES EVERY FIVE MIN. SO LET'S ADD THIS LITTLE SUM TOGETHER; HORMONES RAGING + SPERM = JUST AS MUCH CHANCE OF GETTIN KNOCKED UP AS ANY OTHER TIME OF THE MONTH;
OK NOW TRUST ME ON THIS ONE; COME CLOSER;
BLOOD; IS NOT SPERMICIDE; IT'S JUST ALOT WARMER AND ALOT MORE SLIPPERY;; AND MESSY;
TIP FOR THE GIRLS; WHEN IT IS THAT TIME AND YOU GONNA' GET SOME BUT WOULD LIKE TO KEEP THE MESS TO A MINIMUM; TRY THIS; (ABOUT A 1/2 HOUR BEFOR BUMPIN UGLIES; USE A MILD NON-SCENTED DUECE, THEN CORK IT WITH A SLENDER TO SOAK UP THAT EXCESS) AND I PROMISE YOUR MESS IS CUT IN HALF;;;;SO GO GET CHA' SOME.....................

No, you can still get pregnant on your period. Any woman could get pregnant at any time of the month, depending on the woman. Is it worth it to rely on it? And remember, a period can't keep you from contracting an STD or AID's.
