That's because your computer needs to restart for the program to work.

It is not a isolated problem. It is a symptom of some other problem.
1) Do you have an antivirus installed, and kept it updated.
2) Do you have a antispyware program installed, if yes how often you run them to see if your computer is ok.
3) If you are using windows XP with sp2.
do you have "windows defender" installed. It helps you to identify unknown programs that may cause problems.
please mail if assistance needed.

well it sounds to me like a "system failure". or a "stop error"
either event can trigger an automatic reboot. basically, something hardware or software related is crashing.
Have you installed any software lately? if so try uninstalling software that was recently installed. if that doesn't help then it could be hardware/driver related. any new things plugged in or connected?
you may also see something in the "system event viewer"
to get there, right click on the "my computer" icon, then left click on "manage". you see the event viewer tab towards the top. when you open it(click the + to a - ) look in "system"
also make sure the device drivers are correct/up to date. try "windows update"

It might be internet explorer causing these problems if it happens every time you try to download, and not at any other time.
If you can... click on tools / windows update.. and go through the steps to install all updates. If that does not work:
download http://www.ccleaner.com/ and install (if you can download that is)...
Otherwise... restart your computer and tap F8 before the windows logo shows.. boot up into "safe mode with networking", and download and install from there..

okay, obviously i have had the same problem, it's caused by a harmful spyware which could be a brontok worm, it attaches itse;f to your system folders and spreads, and whenever u try to download and install programs your computer restarts by itself,. what u need to do is run a full virus scan with any anti-virus, like AVG or bitdefender or kaspersky (any of the highly rated anti-viruses) and clean your system of all virus infections, but first make sure you have fully updated your anti-virus (if u have one i hope).that will sure do the trick.
in the future make sure you have a good firewall and antivirus program installed to prevent security breaches. i would reccomment zone alarm antispyware and AVG free edition , they are both free and very effective.if you want to know the good internet security suites or antiviruses, visit

If the mentioned programs demanded the reboot, you need not worry. If you are an XP user, your system may be overheating. Check the temperature and add cooling hardware. If you are in a cool country, check for viruses. Check for viruses if cooling the system does not work on your PC with XP.

some programs in order to be installed need a reboot. however, if this is not it, if it restarts while downloading, check your computer temperature. if it reaches a critical point, it automatically restarts so that it doesn't burn.

If you're running Windows, well...that's pretty much why. It'll never happen with a Mac!
