down the gearbox dipstick hole

2006-08-24 21:04:36 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

If you mean an automatic transmission you pour the special automatic transmission fluid down the dipstick hole.

If it is a manual you need an allen key to unscrew the level plug on the front of the gearbox. the oil should be level with the hole.

Good luck.

it depends if it is a automatic or a manual. If it is an auto there should be a red colored dipstick under the hood towards the right behind the engine.if it is a manual there is a fill plug on the side of the transmission under the car. a manual for the car has detailed pictures of where they are. you can get these at auto parts stores or at the library.

more to teh point, why does it need refilling? (ive had an auto fiesta for years) remember to check the level, you must have the engine running, and have activated the selector thru PRNDL and back to park, and dip it with the engine running. otherwise your level indication wil lbe incorrect. (the torque converter need to be filled with TQF)

and you fill it up thru the dipstick. (RED) youll need a small funnel or a long pipe attached to the squeezy bottle cuz its a pain to fill.
