Went for esopagogastnotuendoscpy. Tension in room. Confrontation with nurses. Drugged me and were asking me questions which had nothing to do with the procedure. Yelled at them to leave me alone. Had an IV in my right hand. Later she unhooked it so I could get dressed. She told me to hold the short tube, which was hooked to the needle in my hand, and put it through my shirt sleeve. She had a gauze pad and appeared to be pressing something into the tube with the gauze. She hooked the IV back up and let it run for about a minute. If she was only going to run it for a few seconds, she should have just taken it out before I got dressed. I became concerned and called the nursing supervisor. I also told her about how I was treated and the tension in the procedure room. She could not understand why the IV was not taken out before I got dressed. Three weeks later became very ill and I am still sick four months later. Lost most of hearing in one ear. Was I infected with something?

You went for a what? Man, it hurts just to try to spell that puppy. It's esophagogastroduodenoscopy, or so says Wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Esophagogastroduodenoscopy

So, let's recap, shall we? You weren't feeling well. You went to the hospital for an invasive, unpleasant procedure you probably weren't thrilled about. You were grouchy with the nurses, and maybe they were grouchy back. You were sedated for the procedure -- totally normal. You were asked questions (or, you think you were -- sedated, remember?) you think had nothing to do with the procedure (maybe not, but they did have to do with your little stay at the center, believe me). You were grouchy right through the sedation, and yelled at the nurses. A nurse unhooked the IV so you could get dressed, probably at your behest. Then she hooked it back up to the tube in your hand that was designed specifically so that IVs could be attached and detached without poking extra holes in you. You became concerned because....why? Sounds like the nursing supervisor pretended to share your unfounded concern in the interests of getting you out the door. Then, three weeks later -- that's THREE WEEKS, folks -- you got sick, and think the nurses poisoned you. Outside of the movies, no one has come up with a poison that has a three-week fuse.

If I approached the world the way you apparently do, I'd need an upper GI (much easier to spell), too. Really.

At least, my friend, I can diagnose your illness with certainty, given the rich detail of your narrative. Please, seek treatment. You will be much happier. So will everyone else.

Esophogastroduodenoscopy....means they lookes at your esophagus, stomach, and the first part of your intestine with a scope down your throat. That was for anyone who didn't know what that was. The drugs they give you for that kind of stuff can make you do weird stuff and not remember some of it. No, they didn't intentionally hurt you at the hospital. They probably just forgot to take the IV out before you got dressed. You might have picked up some kind of infection at the hospital, or it could just be a coincidence. You obviously had some kind of problem that made you need the procedure in the first place.

Sound like you had an adverse event related to anesthesia and even though you may not have gone completely under you had anesthesia.

No, you werent drugged there, even tho they might have wanted to. It would be a huge lawsuit on them if so. No way to prove it either.

Maybe that's what you get, when you piss off the Nurse... It doesn't matter how right you are... as you are at the mercy of them...
