I am confused with sateen and 100% cotton. Is sateen a cotton blend or are they similiar? Or What. I like sheets that stay cool and soft. I don't care if they wrinkle just as long as they are not "starchy." Please enlighten me.

sateen and satin sheets make a night of sleeping impossible...you are always chasing your pillows around. They slip off too easily! Fun for other things, but sleeping is not FUN! Try any cotton sheets that are 400 + thread count. The 800 thread count is expensive but very worth it! They are like sleeping on a cloud...and stay nice and cool. NEVER scratchy......the higher the thread count, the nicer the sheets. Average thread count is 200 in Walmart, etc.....they will get scratchy.

sateen is cotton but is softer because it uses a polyster base to give it a shiny feel. When you use sateen bed sheets, a cotton blend, they feel smooth. if you like cooler sheets, go for 100% cotton...low thread count will wrinkle...highest thread count is VERY expensive and can feel like silk. Like 800 thread count or egyptian cotton. best bet 250-500 thread count cotton bed sheets

you want egyptian cotton, minimum of 600 thread count but they are expensive. couple hundred dollars for 1 set. Try jersey sheets, they feel better than regular cotton and not as expensive.
