Maybe because "Heaven's just a sin away"

Sometimes we just feel we need to be free of our restraints--the ones put on us by our parents, society, and ourselves. It's like the "normal" kid who does something on a dare at school and gets detention. He has a sense of satisfaction that he was noticed for something rather than being part of the crowd. We want to feel our lives haven't settled into a predictable pattern--that we're capable of doing the unexpected. Maybe we're trying to prove something to ourselves or to someone else.

It has always held a certain fascination. Evil itself from the beginning was extremely attractive. I copied the following from the Internet:
The Bible describes Lucifer in Ezekiel 28- in a message from God to "the king of Tyre" who was but a symbolic front for Lucifer, much like an apparent legitimate business may be little more than a front for the Mafia. "'You were the seal of perfection. Full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.... You were the anointed cherub [angel] who covers; I established you; You were on the holy mountain of God;... You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created...'" (Ezekiel 28:11-15)

"The anointed cherub who covers" in Bible language means "one who stands next to God." Psalm 99:1

So, Lucifer was a perfect angel who stood next to God.

Because most people's idea of bad is wrong. Also - because most people's idea of bad is so precise and defined, there is a certain satisfaction in being bad just so you can watch them squirm.

It could be because of a number of things.
Maybe of adrenaline.
Maybe because you like it.
Ever heard of the saying, "It just is?"
