Sure why not if it is someone with whom you are familiar with. In fact if it my friend I love it to death also.
However, when I am working I really do start to become annoyed if total strangers start calling me hun, love, darling, sweetie etc. It seems to some how take the true meaning away and turns it into something somewhat condescending.
But you love it huh! Well maybe that is because are the kind of person who really is a sweetie. :) Have great day sugar britches - LOL. Pete.

Personally, being called those by someone I'm not expecting is a major throw off and means nothing after a while. I love it when my SO calls me thus, but I remembered when I was in high school and the school nurse called me 'love' (or more like 'luv') I stared at her for a few seconds until I realized she didn't mean anything by it.

Generally speaking, not unless I'm sleeping with the person. There's something kinda creepy about being called "hun" by a total stranger.

I like being called "my baby" by my boyfriend, not anybody else. It makes me feel loved and protected. I like "Sweetie" and "honey", too. But not just HUN...it sounds impersonal.

As long as it a close friend its ok, if its a total stranger I find it patronising. Like the local mechanic calling me honey!! whats with that? I called him 'sonny boy ' back and he hated it !! lol

Nice nickname by the way, I'm impressed that you've managed to become bitter and jaded by age 16!

It just depends on who is calling me that. If it's my husband, it's fine. But if it's some creepy guy I don't know, then it's a little weird.
