Aye carumba! You've got me in a tango!
Well...
Pink Floyd is my favorite
The Beatles are the most influential
The Who sings about pinball (and who doesn't love pinball?)
The Rolling Stones are another classic influential
Queen rides bikes with naked women (even though one would prefer a naked man...)
Dire Straits plays rarely on our radio (I like Sultans of Swing)
Led Zepplin is GREAT.
Stone Roses.... Meh.
Oasis... Another meh.
I like old rock. Anything old and British as I say!

Rolling Stones!! I have collected R.S. memorabilia since I was a sophomore in high school in '82. I have 30+ albums, actual records that I am very proud of, since most don't even know what LPs are today. Posters, clippings, t-shirts, two very expensive jackets, a very special jean jacket that my mom embroidered the tongue on- by hand! I've seen them 3 times in concert and plan to be there next year if they are really going to tour. 'Sorry, my answer should not have been about money Ihave spent on a collection/obsession. Favorite albums Let It Bleed, Some Girls, Beggars Banquet.

All British bands are top class. All the ones you've stated are amazing as are Coldplay, Keane, Franz Ferdinand. The list is endless. But yeah I do agree with you on Pink Floyd, but I really liked The Jam.

of modern-day music, American bands win hands down like Kamelot, Symphony X, and Dream Theater. no longer a lot is popping out of england at the moment as far as modern-day is going. Older music is ruled through the British bands like definite, Gensis, Rolling Stones, U2, alongside with the 60s bands. basically relies upon on which era you're searching at.
