Lower response time is better, it is the time between receiving a change to a pixel changes on the monitor.
Refresh rate: higher better, not applicable to LCDs, but for compatibility it came back to applicable to LCDs.
Screen size: this is easiest to figure out but hardest to say what's good; oh, in CRT the inch length is measured plastic tip to tip; LCD the inch length is measured screen corner to corner.
LCDs now are good enough for games.

I can recommend the NEC 19" LCD monitor with a optimal resolution of 1280x1024. Flat screen, excellent color quality, and good response time.

to viewing movies and playing games a normal 15 inch CRT monitor is enough. but u are doing work with graphics and like that high rate softwares, u should use bigger screen monitor.
It is better to us LCD or Plasma monitors if u are giving more importance abt ur eyes and vision.

you will elect a solid reaction time, (5ms is super, 10ms could be solid, 23ms could be usable yet no longer super, slightly jumpy in very rapid circulate video games). decision & assessment ratio are the subsequent issues. 4 hundred:a million assessment ratio could be super, however the better the ratio the greater efficient. A non sixteen:9 (ingredient ratio) decision curiously could make the video games look stretched or squashed so it may be superb to get a visual exhibit unit it relatively is extensive-exhibit screen & helps 720p or 1080i, an in between decision curiously makes the xbox stretch or squash the sport section to in super condition that decision, or letterboxes it.

brand, price, size, after sales support, other parameter like no.of pixels, are useless right now because they are saturated, anyway enough, beware of ergonomics, size, enviromental factors
beware particularly the liquid crystal or CRT

you look for Response time (4-6ms is the best to get), contrast ratios (the higher the better), and it needs to have DVI and VGA... just incase you get a video card or have one w/DVI
