Cable management is just "whatever you use to keep the cables under control". If you have (for instance) 500 cat-6 cables feeding into36 gigabit switches in a rack, you're going to want to be *very* careful to do a clean and neat job so you can *find* a particular cable again if you have to. Also, it's generally considered uncool to let cables pile up and block your cooling airflow. This can be anything from special 19" racks with special clips for the cables, all the way down to using twist ties to bundle cables together.
