if so, how long did you carry your baby? were you put on bed rest? did you get the stich? I was just wondering because my sister is 26 almost 27 weeks pregnant with an incompetent cervix. I just want to know as much info on it as i can. I know i can google it but i want to hear about it from people who actually are dealing with the problem.

My sister cant even get up to go to the doc! A nurse comes every friday and checks her and gives her a shot of something to make her body think she is not pregnant so she wont contract. The only time she can get up is to potty and shower! Are you a part of the msn groups about incompentent cervix? My sister joined and i joined to be more informed about it. Its really good.

i have a incomplete cervix. This was found when I started to complain of pain in my pelvic area. Though at first I was told that it was my liagments that were streching. The doctor decided to check it just to be sure. That was 25 or 26 weeks. I was too far along to get a clearge( not sure if spelled right). This is where they stich you up until you are ready to deliver. I am currently on bedrest until 34 weeks because the doctor is scared that I might go into preterm labor. I have to go to the doctor every other week so that they can do a cervical check. I am going crazey staying home. I feel like I am on punishment.(lol) Tell her to make sure she doesn't stress over anything, and do not have sex. That can cause the cervix to open more, thus causing her to go into labor. If she need to talk to anyone or if you need to talk, feel free to email me.

I actually just lost a baby girl on Aug 11th due to Incompetant Cervix. I was 21 weeks. I went back to my OB today and was told when I get pregnant again that I will have to have the stitching done at 14-15 weeks along. My OB also told me that it doesn't always happen with every pregnancy. I had a son that was born at 29 weeks, but I had placental abruption with him. She said that if someone was to lose a baby with I/C it is usually between 18-22 weeks without the stitching.
