I adore that name. :) Well, what can I say, Kingston is my 18 month old baby's first name. It is a strong name to live up to.
Calix is definitely out of the norm and being that it is different with a great meaning, I say you should go with it. Especially if your husband loves the name...the first signs of Fatherhood, he's taking part in all of it...That alone would make a woman's heart melt.
All hail, Calix Kingston! :)

My husband and I NEVER tell the names we are thinking of, particularly because you will never find a name that everyone likes. What matters is it is a name you love, both of you, its a name you can see calling your baby, and then your toddler, and then teenager and then your adult son. Since you asked, Calix is very unusual but is a strong sounding name. I love greek names myself. I'm not terribly fond of Kingston as it sounds too pretentious or stuffy, putting the two names together, they just clash to me. But like I said before, if its a name you both love then go for it and don't worry about what others think.

Kingston is great, but I don't know about Calix. To me, that sounds like the name of a distant planet in a B grade sci-fi movie. LOL Kingston Hunt has a great ring to it...I like it!

It's a really unusual name - really unusual! The sort of name that might make people puzzled and uncertain what they are dealing with - even where the barer is from. Also, i have to say it, but there is something slightly pretentious about it! very slightly! especially considering the meaning! On the other hand - if you dont mind being unusual and a little dramatic - then go for it!
