for me, its either Andres Vollenweider(sp) and Jack Johnson's "Curious George" Soundtrack.
Vollenweider is new age music, he mixes music with nature sounds. My favorite cd is "White Winds" and even though the "Curious George" soundtrack is for kids, his voice is soothing and he does a GREAT cover of the White Stripes "We are gonna be friends". Let me know if I can email you a sample(no viruses, I sware!!!!) or check out a sample of both an Itunes. Vollenweider has very little lyrics, its mainly instrumental and Jack Johnson is a very mellow "Dave Matthews".
rest. be calm, listen and peace.

Recently I find myself singing and humming the Fray song about being in over my head. I've always been into old rock & roll- I don't even know if I spelt the Fray correctly. Not that I haven't been into some newer stuff, but this was one band that my daughter had to repeatedly tell me the name of. I heard a new song by them 1/2 way through on the radio and I just knew it was them. His voice! If anyone would like to give me more info on this band, please e-mail. I have only heard one and 1/2 songs but feel hooked.
To answer your question my comfort music is Matchbox 20, Rob Thomas solo and Train.

Yes. I like Lifehouse, Third Eye Blind, The Wallflowers, Disturbed, Sister Hazel, Goo Goo Dolls, Matchbox Twenty, 3 Doors Down, and many more, some of which was recorded in the last five years, and all of which helps me fall asleep. Also, I do spend time just listening to music.

Yes...India.Arie makes comforting music. Her lastest is I Am Not My Hair about the stages that a woman goes through in her life and how each stage regardless of that woman's outer appearance make up who that woman is. She also has her Voyage To India cd which is just a great piece of work. It will make you reflect on every aspect of your life and offer joy and hope as opposed to desperation and despair.

Well not really, I mean, just yesterday, was watching TV and saw Paris Hilton saying she cries whenever she hears her CD! her song's actually on top of the charts everywhere, HELLOOOO! how can people actually think that's good music?
She sounds retarded! so no, music's not what it used to be, now we have the likes of Nick lachey, paris, jessica simpson, hillary duff and anyone else that's pretty enough to prance around like some damn retarted puppet and act like they can sing! Bring back the 80's please before music turns to plastic.

Slayer - Christ Illusion, Rob Zombie - Educated Horses. I think you're only thinking about mainstream music.
