well at my place in bangalore city, India, we are a family of 4 and we own 2 cars and 3 bikes / scooters. Guess we'r over doing it for a middle class family here, but since our public transport is not very reliable we have to opt for personal transport.. and its fun to change the mode of transport so that we dont' get bored using the same vehicle all the time...

I have six people in my family and we have five cars.
So if there's a fire in my house threatening to burn down the garage and there are two cars parked in the garage and two out in the driveway then my family can easily move all our cars at once before the garage collapses.

There are two people in my family and we have 4 cars and two motorcycles. Two of the cars and one motorcycle are hobby projects that belong to my husband. The other two cars are our daily commute vehicles.
