Well, think of it this way.

If you work in a high rise building, and have never been to the basement or the foundation, nor found a reason to, does it cease to serve a purpose?

How about machine code when most programmers today are versed in high level language? It's still necessary to have the fundamental elements of a foundational code around. Same with genetics.

I've had some thought on why monkeys exist, but no living cro-magnons. The best thing I could theorise comes directly from modern and past human behaviour. The more advanced a species became, the more they could travel, conquer, and take large amounts of land (territory) from others of the same genus. As one became slightly more advanced than the other, they conquered and interbred, or otherwise committed genocide. Any species that didn't pose a threat to evolving man was left alone.

Again, it's just a theory, as is evolution in general. There are still many questions of mechanics that evolution has not explained.

Men didn't evolve from Monkeys. If you support the theory of Evolution, Humans and Monkeys both evolved from a common ancestor.

Monkeys? I think you mean apes. Monkeys are a little farther down the evolution chart. Might as well ask, "Why are there still dogs, cats, or squirrels?" Heck, if man evolved, why are there still single cell amoebas???

Why are people still debating this stuff? Evolution is a scientific fact.

that's actually a good question. But then why is there any type of simple organism? It will continue to survive as long as possible, and monkeys must have enough survival skills to still be here. There are also different breeds or whatever there are of monkeys. Maybe we evolved from a dumber breed.

It's the common anncestory that is the crucial bit, if you follow Darwin's theory of evolution. Look at the variety of dogs, then look at show dogs through the years and how they have changed to due our manipulation. Humans are still evolving, but slower, take average height and size, etc. Unfortunately natural selection takes longer in humans,as we have tools and the resources to take care of the "weaker members" who can continue to populate the human race, so our evolution has slowed down. Not that I am advocating gentic selection, however the next big step in our evolution, may well be the ability for parents to start genetically manipulating their children!

See evolution doesn't work like Pokemon. Monkeys didn't become humans the idea is (see not stating fact so don't get on me, creationists) that humans and monkeys had a common ancestor.

Humans did not evolve from monkeys. Learn what evolution is before you try to criticize it; otherwise, you just look foolish.

maybe some of us still wouldn't wise up and evolved...they are just happy to swing around and having a feast of bananas... in short, you can take the human out of a monkey but you can't take the monkey out of a human !!
