If head and Shoulders doesn't work for you, try T-Gel. It's a different formula than Head and Shoulders, but it works just as well.
It does smell a little odd when you're using it - like coal tar, which is one of the ingredients. The smell rinses out. It's pretty good stuff.
I couldn't use Head and Shoulders because it contains a form of Alcohol. I take Antabuse because I'm an Acloholic. Antabuse is supposed to make you sick if you drink Alcohol, but you can also have skin reactions if you apply something with Alcohol in it.
This happened to me. I broke out in hives when I used Head and Shoulders. It's not a bad product, just not for people who react to the Alcohol.
I subsituted T-Gel, which does not contain Alcohol. It worked!

This is going to sound completely weird, but youre open to suggestions right ? I heard about this back in beauty school, never tried in on myself or anyone but it seems logical. Listerine mouthwash, to kill the bacteria causing dandruff. Some could be bacterial (like if you have acne on your hairline) or you could just have dry scalp (which some mistake for dandruff). If it is dandruff the flakes will have a waxy, greasy mix. Dry scalp is just dry flakes. If it is a dry scalp, applying moisturizing conditioners to the scalp could help (most people tend to focus on the hair, when the scalp really needs the conditioning).

Apply freshly squeezed lemon juice on the scalp every night before going to bed - take some time to rub it on the scalp. Wash it with gentle shampoo on the following morning. Do not use any medicated shampoo - it damages hair. Do it for seven to ten days and you will see the result.

It could be the shampoo you are using. You're scalp could be sensitive even if you are using a dandruff shampoo. Have you tried Head and Shoulders for sensitive scalps? I have also heard that Neutrogena T-Gel works well. If nothing works for you, go to a doctor because you could have another kind of skin condition.

Apply good quality mehndi once a week and a mixture of reetha and amla on a daily basis. Apply this mixture at least an hour before taking your bath. The mehndi application should be washed after about 6 hours.

I swear by Neutrogena's T-Gel. Personally, I find that it stinks so I usually follow it with my regular shampoo and conditioner to get rid of as much of the smell as possible. And I usually only use it every other day. It clears up my dandruff in no time!
