Depends on the make/model of the PC, with most consumer models a reinstall CD would have shipped with it that you could use to easily format the hard drive and reinstall the OS/apps as it came from the factory. If you no longer have these reinstall CD's, contact the manufacturer to see if they can be purchased.

What you need to do is reinstall windows. You will want to format your hard drive first. That way you can install the operating system fresh, and you will have maximum space on your drive. If you have a Windows XP disc you will just put it in the cd-rom drive and follow instructions for a new installation. When it asks about volumes whether to delete or not, choose to delete. That will format the drive and wipe off all the data. Then you start with a clean slate again. Remember to back up any files you want to keep first.

If you are running Windows XP then put your windows cd in cdrom and restart your computer. When it says press any jkey to boot from cd do so & it'll put you into a loading screen . When it comes to the part about where to put windows at (on which drive) delete the drive thats there (actually partition) & then resetup a new partition . After that do a full format on it no quick & then proceed with loadinding windows back on. Good luck & put a firewall on & virus protection anytime you connected to the net next time so you wont have to do this again.

Well, for starters, to reboot means to just restart your computer rather than putting it on sleep mode, or standby.... You are meaning reformat.......which it takes ALOT ... and if you don't know what that word means, then you should leave that to the professionals, otherwise you could have a REALLY huge mess on your hands:)

You need to format it. Enter "format c:" or insert your Windows install disc, and when it offers the possibility, format the hard drive.
