why lead & tin are not semicondoctours altough they have the valency of 4?

they are both soft and have very low melting points.
Perhaps that makes them unsuitable as a semi-conductors.

Type what is a semiconductor at yahoo search you will get a list of URLS write down the qualities definitely lead and tin will not be having those properties.
