i don't know if u do it because of feeling like an outcast. it sounds like u would feel ashamed because u have morals. thats a good thing, and its rare.

oh yes it happens so many times in our lives. There are so many pressures on an individual to do a right thing and almost in 80% cases the people or society who are stressing u to do a thing is infact not a 'right' thing in the true sense of the word but that is what they 'want'. They want to happen things according to their wishes. And when this is not done and we go against their wishes they treat us like an 'outcast'.
But to feel ashamed of ourselves is not the right thing except in the case when U are going against the laws or something which hurts some one else.

Well, it's good to do the right thing, isn't it? Pressured? Hmmm.... More of obligated / obliged, I would say. Everyone is not perfect. Tend to make mistakes. And hopefully learn from our own mistakes & other people's mistakes as well.
I'll do what I think it's right. It's got to do with my own DISCERNMENT & DISCRETION (not stubborn) rather than CONFORM TO OTHERS. Then it's very natural for me to do so & not feel bad about it.
Making decisions different from others is not neccessary wrong. It's just different. Everyone is different. I mean, if they're truly my friends / loved ones, they will always be. And if my approach is wrong, I believe I'll be gently reminded by them. Nothing much to be ashamed of.
So long it's still the right in its own way, what the heck?! Why feel ashamed for being yourself? Unless it's totally not right to do so.
If you've to conform to what others normally do to be part of the group, it would be too tiring / frustrating / annoying / pressurizing for you. People should accept just the way you are. Unless your actions are unacceptable, then it's better to do the right thing & be true to yourself.
Just an interesting note to add on: Better to be pressurized to do something right than to do something wrong... So, do not fret too much about it *smiles*

Well, sometimes........... How True!!
Its the way we are brought up in this world, with pre-conceived notions about right and wrong, just following the existing stereotypes!! And if we go adrift of them, even when we consider ourselves to be right, we are treated like an outcast! No matter how much we want, we just cant break the shackles!!
But its not that i feel this way always, cos mostly i do the right thing because I MYSELF think its right! But Yah, i can sense your feeling behind thsi questions, whenever i have to do this, i feel disappointed, really disappointed!BUt thats teh way it is in this Big Bad World!

I feel pressured to always do the right thing because I am a mom. Everything I do my children see and it shapes the persons they will be when they grow up. Trust me I am 22 and I would love to go bar hopping with my hubby, getting so hammered that I don't remember what happened the night before, or street racing my duramax as I run from the cops. But what kind of parent would I be then. So, yes everyday I am pressured to be the good god person who is trying to raise two good children.

No. I just try to do the right thing because it is the right thing to do.
Why would you not want to do the right thing in the first place? Why even question this?
An example might be nice...what are you puzzled by? Ask yourself - if I do this thing and it is not the right thing to do - then I obviously know what the right thing to do is - so now the question is - what kinda of a person do I want to become?

Right or wrong is sometimes very hard to distinguish between. You have to do what is right for you at the moment even if other people think it's wrong. The way you ask your question I have to believe that it's not always a matter between right or wrong you are trying to decide between. It sounds as if you are trying to please everyone in your world. That, my friend, is NOT always possible. Try to find out what is right and important to you and do that. It won't make you popular but, it will give you peace of mind. I've been down that road myself. Good luck, sweetie.

Each moment and each step has to be watched carefully. For that is the road for betterment... personal, for family then the neighbours and country and all humanity. Its a road to refinement. No bother of what others say, own your deed with pride.

its a mean state of affairs to follow one's own heart in the face of criticism,...no kind words to assuage the pain, even with time you will find 'friends' and 'family' stabbing you and stamping u down.
yet, you cannot give in to doubt.
first u owe it to urself to try.
all else is commentary-positive and negative.
try-then u can rest all doubt.
