Unless you have a very old car, or you are trying to address a problem, SAVE YOUR MONEY.
All fuel you buy today has the very same cleaners and conditioners in it.
If they are trying to sell you on the Preventive Maintenance, or improved mileage, or better performance, It is called an "UP SELL". (Pronounced commission)
If on the other hand you are trying to address a problem, find a shop that uses a recycling machine that also cleans the plenum and intake.
SOME of the additives sold CAN make a bit of difference, but you rarely ever recover the cost of them in fuel or performance.

You can buy any fuel system cleaner at any time and pour it into your system yourself. Better to do it when the tank is at quarter from empty then fill it as it will mix it for you as you fuel.
The shop was looking to sell you the treatment and perhaps charge you more for the service as well. If the car runs well don't worry about it. With winter approaching it is a good idea to add a dispersant to the fuel to rid the system of any water that may be present.

Not necessary... but there is a fuel filter right at the bottom of the car which filter the fuel that 's go to the engine, you may want to change that, not many people change that, but I will...
Good maintenance will last your car long enough.

Good for them. Most of the "chain" oil changers want to get you for around $60 before you get out of there. I like the $15 oil/filter changes and then go to AutoZone for my additives.

its good for the person selling it -- If you wish to use an additive try Chevron Techtrolene (spelling may be wrong) -
I think ZOOM may just clean your wallet for a bottle of Rubbing Alcoho at a inflated price

GM's Recommended maintenance includes this every six months. It's basically for people who use cheap *** gas. It helps GM so they don't have to replace fuel filters and perform other repairs under warranty.
Best bet is to use Chevron with Techron and not worry about it.
