They, especially North Korea, trump out loud about their nuclear activities. What do they want?

Some say, North Korea wants attention of the world. What does the N. Korea gain from grabbing the attention?

And what benefits does the Iranians get for their nuclear development?

Lastly, recalling president Bush's reaction to N. Korea's nuclear aggression, he may consider the pre-emptive strike against N. Korea, if it continues its development. Do you think there may be conflict or even war for this?

Replying to wunderkind's answer.

So what do you think soon the U.S. will do, to the response to N. Korea and Iran?

And can you think of any solutions for this?

I frankly doubt if Bush would fight a war against N. Korea at this time because of many political and world-wide factors plus our diminished military; however, if N. Korea pushed us too hard we would have to do something about them beyond discussions with China and Russia. Japan wants some sort of action and it may be necessary to arm Japan with nuclear weapons (they could develop their own rather quickly with our help) so they can posture themselves in a strong defensive position. This would mean a change to their to their constitution which specifies no offensive or defensive(?) weapons. N. Korea is strutting around like a rooster. Remember what happened to the rooster. It lost its head. The same holds true for Iran. Why don't we want Iran to have nuclear weapons? Because they are Jihadists and will undoubtedly use them without caring about human life. They all want to go to heaven and be with the 72 virgins. I would love to send them there, except not to heaven but to the other place.

There is no benefit to being a nuclear nation unless it is for the right reason. I don't think these two countries are in it for that. I think they just want a stronghold over the world and nuclear is the only way they can see to do it.

Yes I think we would be screwed if the US took it up against North Korea. You don't start a war with anyone who has nukes unless you are prepared for the worst.

America could try being sincere at least. How about listening to these two very determined Leaders of Iran and North Korea. Just a suggestion.

It's not what the country and average person wants....it what their Regimes want. Both countries have regimes that are paranoid, radical and are looking or respect on the international stage. Both countries are also in areas of turnoil. North Korea fears South Korea and Iran fears Israel and the US.
