Sounds like an engine control gone bad or a vacuum leak.

There are ways to check vacuum leaks out, your current tech can't locate it find another tech, preferably a Honda guy. Dropping it in gear (assuming an automatic) at that RPM is not normal for any engine, yes the a/c will drag it down but that does not mean it is OK.You need help.

You may notice an idle change when the engine is first started. The same idea as a choke on older vehicles. Did you use the ECM from the donor car? If not this could very well be the problem. Does it act normally when the engine reaches operating temperature? These engines use different sensors and control modules therefore the old ECM will not get the correct readings if that is what you are using. Reguardless, the engine should never idle that high, up to temp or not. Your operating idle should be a grand or less. Anything higher is only wasting fuel and adding buildup to the inside of the motor. This may cause plugs to fuel fowl over time.

Nothing. The AC will eat at least 15 HP. Why is your idle set so high in the first place? All that is doing is dumping a bunch of unburned fuel out the exhaust.

it really is called a 2 section problem. the first one stands out as the sensor that detects warmth and sends it to the Gage and computer. it could be sending the incorrect or intermittent files. The air con is an entire diverse problem. Whoever informed you what it wasn't might want to were able to inform you what it became. The compressor has lower than pressure and overpressure switches, that stands out as the problem. there is also a relay that switches it on and stale in the course of the traditional series of activities, this stands out as the problem.

sounds like the idle air valve is stuck open, the wires to it are broke, ecu is bad or the min idle is set to high
