Are of Square is 144 cm2, so the side is 12 cm.
That means the perimeter is 48 cms.
so if we consider the shorter side of rectangle as x, we have:
2 * (x + 2x) = 48cms.

Area of square is 144. Square root of 144 is 12 so square has sides 12 cm.
4 x 12 = 48 so perimeter is 48 cm. Rectangle has same perimeter, in this case length is twice width so
2x + x + 2x + x = 48cm.
Re-arrange to 6x = 48.
Divide 48 by 6 to get x = 8cm.
So area of rectangle is 2(8) x 8 = 16 x 8 = 128 cmsq. Two squares next to each other, side length 8cm, area 64cmsq so area of rectangle is 128cmsq.

let x be length of square
area of square: x^2=144 which means x=12
perimiter of square=4x is same as rectangle perimeter=48.
But rectangle has one side length y, and the other 2y,
so 48=y+2y+y+2y=6y
so y=8 and the sides of the rectangle are 8 and 16 respectively.
The area of the rectangle is 8*16=128
So your answer is 128 cm2.

PERIMETER=4*12=48CM
Rectangle is having length is twice that of width.
perimeter of rectangle=2length+2breadth=2(length+breadth)
now,length is twice that of width in Rect ,so
length=2*breadth
perimeter of rectangle=2length+2breadth=2(2*breadth+breadth)
48=2(3*breadth)=6*breadth
48/6=breadth
so, breadth=8,length=2*breadth=2*8=16.
AREA OF RECTANGLE=length*breadth=8*16
=128sq. cm.is the answer.
