After 9/11 happened, I thought of that beautiful song and sure enough on one of the tributes to the victims of that terrible day, I heard Willie Nelson singing it. I think America the beautiful was considered at one time to become the national anthemn of the U.S. Is that right?...And Kate Smith did it first, didn't she?...This song was so appropriate for this very dramatic event. I wonder if Mr. Nelson has recorded it?
