I had a dream that I became best friends with this girl that bullied me a few years back, who I dislike now, became head girl, saved my friends from a burning hot spa pool, than my school held a ceremony for me because they thought I was so wonderful, than I went to save some people from a car crash, but once everyone was safely out, the car exploded and I died alone.

I'm not exactly that great at school. What is this dream implying?

By the way, this dream was a one off. My dreams aren't usually like that at all.

First, some surface guesses....

Becoming friends with that girl may mean you'd like to be friends with her or wish things could have been different, or it may mean you feel you are compromising your values (being friends with someone you don't like) in order to accomplish something.

The saving people thing (in all seriousness, have you been watching super-hero movies so that you'd have that type of thing on your mind?). Other than that, there's the chance you think your friends are into something dangerous for them, and maybe you have some feeling that thinking about how dangerous or bad whatever it is you think they're doing is amounts to your imagining you may have the power to do something about it. Maybe you're conflicted about something like your loyalty to them and your feeling someone should do something about whatever it is they're doing, and maybe your mind reassured you by having people think you were wonderful.

(Any chance you're concerned about any of the friends driving crazily or speeding or using drugs or alcohol and then driving? Would that be the thing they're doing that you could think is dangerous? Might it even be some subconscious thing you've felt when you've been with them? Just some ideas...)

If you have it in your mind that if you can change what they're doing you may actually save them from getting in a crash that would explain part one and part two of the dream.

The dying alone thing just might mean you're very aware that you're alone in this. Is there a chance when you've been in someone's car you were thinking something like, "Sure.. Drive like a maniac. I'll be the one who ends up being killed and not you."? These are obviously all just guesses about the surface level of the dream. Its the best I can come up with.

Dreams usually involve your having some feeling that your mind needs to process. Since feelings don't have images, and since dreams need images, your dreams can do something like take things you've seen on television, at the mall, at school, wherever and apply those images as "labels" for your feelings.

I'm wondering if you're feeling as if there's something that's keeping you different from your friends in some way and if you are actually concerned about your own wellbeing or about feeling as if the "real you" has either been lost or stands to be lost (not in real death but in the way that you lose your own real personality or wishes or beliefs to someone else's).

My best guesses. They're probably absolutely as far off base as anything could be. (I do suspect, though, you have something you're thinking or worrying about that is far deeper and more serious than how well you do at school.)

Some dreams are therapeutic, some dreams are messages from the unconscious mind or spirit realm, and some dreams are simply the mind's way of coping with the madness of the sensory overload that is our world today.

When confronted with dreams about death, it's helpful to remember that when we do dream prophetically, we often dream in opposites ... i.e, you dream about breaking up with your boyfriend and end up getting married, you dream of drowning before a swimming competition and end up winning first place, or you dream of flunking and ace the test.

Your dreams sounds like it was very vivid with a lot of memorable detail. Burning water is certainly an interesting metaphor, but overall, it sounds like perhaps this dream was your mind's own way of helping you cope with unpleasant experiences and unacknowledged feelings of inferiority by providing positive experiences to balance out the negative ones.

The conscious mind may be able to tell the difference between reality and fantasy, but the subconscious cannot. So while you realize that none of these things have actually happened, your subconscious has still received the message that deep down you are a heroic, selfless person, appreciated by "the system" (as represented by becoming head girl at school), and loved by your friends.

Another thing to remember: dreams don't always have meanings, profound or otherwise. According to one Qi Gong master, they are usually only the mind's way of making peace with all the negativity the body has absorbed during the day, and processing or discharging it so it does not harm the body.

I hope this was helpful. For more, I've provided some links to sites that might help you with interpreting the individual symbols or events :)

Death in a dream usually means change in life. A drastic change. The rest of your dream is a way to handle your emotions regarding the other aspects of your life.

The part about the girl you hated, perhaps you would have rather been friends with her than have her as an enemy. The ceremony at school represents your desire to have respect at school and the amazing feats that lead to that are the extremes you feel like you need to go through to get that respect.

Sounds like you have lots on your mind.

I think people are better at interpreting their own dreams when they know how and have the proper tools. Here is a link to a site that has dream symbol interpretations: http://www.dreamloverinc.com/ Also, you can free associate the symbols in your dream. Pick out the most important ideas fromt the dream and use those to begin. For example, what's the first thing that comes to mind when you think of that girl? If it's bullying, then ask yourself what bullying makes you think of. Perhaps it reminds you of a specific time she bullied you. Then what does that remind you of? Keep going until you have a realization about what your dream could mean or how you feel about something.

This dream seems to reflect your need and want to be recognized, admired and looked up to. This girl who bullied you, she was one of the more popular girls? You becoming friends with her seems to reflect your desire to be like her in that aspect.

Saving your friends and everyone in school celebrating you? Well, you wish to be recognized in school. You say that you are not that great at school: this is a sign of a low self-esteem which emphasizes that kind of hopes and desires.

Saving people from a car crash and dying while doing it? This is your vision about the ultimate good deed: sacrificing your own life while saving others. Somewhere deep inside you felt good about that death there, didn't you? Again, this reflects your low self-esteem and wish to be looked up to; to do ultimate good deeds and be respected by everyone.

Now, if you have this kind of dreams often, then it means you really have some issues with your self-esteem. But if this is only occasional, then it's perfectly normal for a young girl to be a little insecure and socially afraid. This kind of dreaming enforces your belief that one day you can be something too, though I wouldn't recommend trying that sacrifice-thing in the waking world :) But those feelings of success and ability to do brave things in your dreams prepares your mind to face challenging things while awake; making friends, accepting gratitude and compliments from other people and believing that you are worth more than your bullies want you to believe... These are the more common everyday challenges you should be ready to face. It's not a bad talent to be able to act in physically dangerous situations too, but we don't encounter things like that so often while awake. However, those are the strong mental images of challenges, and that's why our mind uses them while dreaming.

Saving people in dream = heroic behavior
Friend with Bully = Want to be part of the group.

Basically, you dream implies socially you want to be known and recognized and you may have a little low confidence in reality. You want to boost your confidence, and so you projected the saving scene in the dream. There may be something you wanted to do, but can't do. By revealing in dream, you may feel better in your subconscious mind. As for being friend with bully shows that you don't want to be left out, and you want to be part of them. You want to be looked as equal or perhaps greater in your case because of your heroic behavior.

In conclusion, you may have low self esteem socially, you want to be recognized and you want to show people what you are made of. You may be looking for opportunities to show your abilities or at least having chance to do things you think you may be able to do it even though you are asked to do it all the time.

Maybe it is saying it is your way of showing what a bigger person you are than her. Her life as a bully is insignificant and your acts of courage and your death imortalize you in her eyes.
