Fifty minutes ago if it was four times as many
minutes past three o'clock,how many minutes is it to
six o'clock?

The number of minutes between 3 and 6 o clock is

3(hrs) * 60 = 180 mins.

so suppose now it is x mins to 6 o clock.

That would mean that it is (180 - x) mins past 3!

That would mean that Fifty mins ago, it was [(180 - x) - 50] mins past 3!

that is 130 - x mins.

Now as per the question, 130 - x = 4x. That impliest 130 = 5x.

x in that case shall be = 130/5 = 26 mins.

I think you left something out in your explanation, four times as many minutes past 3 as what?
