this depends on how good of shape you were in before pregnancy and is you also were running before pregnancy. I have a friend that was running before pregnancy and was very healthy. She ran (jogged later) until she was 7 or 8 months. He doc finally told her to slow down a bit. It made her labor easier. Talk to your doc about what they think you can do. If you have a high risk pregnancy it is probably not recommended. But it has been done.

running can be okay if you were capable of doing it before you got pregnant.
Your body is signaling that it's had enough if you feel:
fatigue
dizziness
heart palpitations (your heart pounding in your chest)
shortness of breath
pain in your back or pelvis
And if you can't talk while you're exercising, you're doing it too strenuously. You should also keep your heart rate below 160 beats per minute.
It also isn't good for your baby if you become overheated because temperatures greater than 102.6 degrees Fahrenheit (39 degrees Celsius) could cause problems with the developing fetus - especially in the first trimester - which can potentially lead to birth defects. So don't overdo exercise on hot days.
When the weather is hot, try to avoid exercising outside during the hottest part of the day (from about 10 AM to 3 PM) or exercise in an air-conditioned place. .
And check with your doctor if you experience any of these warning signs during any type of exercise:
vaginal bleeding
unusual pain
dizziness or lightheadedness
unusual shortness of breath
racing heartbeat or chest pain
fluid leaking from your vagina
uterine contractions

I am now 5 months pregnant and before this I was a competitive runner... I no longer run or jog for that matter because when you are pregnant your heartrate is not supposed to go over 140beats/min. Unfortunately ... that usually rules out running... however you can walk at a brisk pace or on an incline. You should also try prenatal yoga or strengthtraining classes. Swimming is good too-

it is actually more effective to speed walk beleive it or not. depending on where you are in your pregnancy, your feet will give you problems so speed walk on the tread mill to absorb uneccisary shock! the only reason i can see it to be benificial to run on pavement is if you do feild and track or your in the military where you have to get your body used to absorbing all the shock from the pavement. it just causes uneccisary injuries and you dont need that while your pregnant!

I'm not positive, because I'm not a doctor (which is who you should definitely ask) but I think running is too much after the first trimester. I'd stick with walking and regular housework.

Only if you fall down allot. No, really, the exercise is good, just don't be trying to run the 2 minute mile.

yes..it's dangerous as you might suffer miscarriage or you might bleed....but it's ok to do more walking....walking actually prepare you for your pelvic bones disengaged better during labor....
