I used to work in a pre-k school... everyone lied about their child's age. Some did so they were in an advanced class... other parents lied so nobody would think it odd that a child that age was still in diapers.

After 2 1/2 years all children had to be potty trained or there was a surcharge, unless there was a medical condition involved. (Try changing a 3 year old's diaper and you'll understand.) Well many parents got a doctors note explaining why the kid was still in diapers... we called it "lazy parent syndrome".

I'm 29 and still trying to convince people that because I have the mental age of a child, I should be allowed in for a child's rate.

I don't because how can I teach my child not to lie to me or others, and then turn around and lie about his age right infront of him?! He would be so confused. Our jobs as parents are to guide them the right way and teach them right from wrong. I think its absolutely nuts of parents to contridict themselves just to save a few dollars.

I hage to admit it, but I do. I just did it this weekend, actually, in order to avoid paying for my son's dinner. I know that this sounds shady, but when you consider the fact that my son only turned two a month and a half ago, and he barely eats anything at all, the logic behind paying for his meal vanishes.

Every parent I know does that. Hey, if they believe you, what's the harm of saving a few dollars?

My parents used to do that. But my little brother was too dumb to play along, he'd say "I'm not four!!" in front of the cashier.
