Please don't laugh at me... but tell me what you think. Well was thinking. The moon revolves around the Earth. The Earth revolves around the sun. The sun revolves (very very slowly) around the milky way.... so I was wondering... maybe.. if maybe the Milky way and all the other so many many galaxies revolve around something bigger too, but its just so slow we haven't been able to tell? and so far away, we can't see it? Like my Astronomy professor said that where there is empty space (I think its called quintesscence) the material is different than where there is things close. But quintesscence is the space that actually holds everything together, so maybe its like another type of gravity? Pulling us all around something bigger? I'm just wondering...? Because there's still so much we haven't discovered in outer space.

i think its possible. i agree with the idea of something bigger that all the galaxies orbit around, or revolve, or interact with, or something.

it is naive for us to assume that what we see as our universe is all that there is. unfortunately, we cant know any more than that.

I won't laugh at you! I think ANYTHING is possible and even the notion of the way we think things are being totally different...........matrix kind of stuff. They are discovering new planets and realizing that the universe may not be how we believe it to be. So noooo......this idea is not as far fetched as you might think. I like to entertain many different theories! You might trip to look at my book case! LOL

That's an interesting thought. Is there truly a center of the universe? Some speculate there are multiple universes. If this is true, what do they revolve around? Blows your mind doesn't it? =)

As you say we just do not know, anything is possible because of this. They are discovering new things in space all the time, your theory is as good as any other.

i think there are quite a few univereses. On a documentary on the discovery channel, there were scientists who thought there might be something in the center of the universe, so there might be othere planets. its just a theory, though.

Well, I'm not sure of the exact thing but they say that galaxies do not stand alone, they are in clusters.

Yes it's possible. It may even be likely. Does that knowledge serve a purpose?

Everything moves in circles.. so you are correct.

Learn about string theory to see how small those circles can get.
(theoretically that is..)
