No, it is not true. Very talented call-girls can make $600-1500 for a "night" in some cities, with the right connections, for a while. The majority cannot do this well at all. AND Really, most professionals are sad creatures.

There are some exceptions, who can parlay their talents into different kinds of gigs entirely.

There are stories about Playboy bunnies, beauty queens, etc... not actual working pros, just greedy attractive amateurs with some sort of "celebrity status", acquiring an obsessed admirer who is quite wealthy, and bilking the idiot silly over a few days, weeks or months, usually for expensive gifts (the proverbial mink coat, diamond jewelry, sports car), not cash.
