Did you notice that the first line of text refers to him as the "public offender?" I wonder if this was a freudian slip.
Anyway, on a scale of 1-10 I would rate this a mere two. It's wholly inappropriate, but I'm assuming that it was consensual and they were both adults (it seems the article would have mentioned something if this was not the case), and therefore not really disturbing. These things happen.
Out of curiousity, do you live in the town or know someone involved? Your question seems to indicate that you have some more information than that short article.

To tell the truth, I am not has disturbed by it as I use to be. It has become so common place. Don't get me wrong, I hate it when things like that happen, but I have become so desensitized to things like this. I hear about it daily. The guy needs to be locked up.

A Madison County public offender, what does Offender mean here?? Just happy they believed the inmate, usually inmates have no civil rights. The offender should get life.

I'm so jaded that it is not all that disturbing to me. If he was raping her, it would be a different story. Sounded consentual to me. People are still having sex, believe it or not.
