Unlimited money, military, cronies and control of electronic voting machines. He could then demonstrate his heroic qualities by generating fear of terrorists and hatred of other cultures. But all of this is too far-fetched to ever happen.

A hero is anyone who works to help or defend others.

Heroic qualities would be bravery and strength (bravery in a fight and physical strength could certainly apply, but these qualities don't need to be quite so literal), compassion, empathy and sympathy, at least some degree of selflessness or willingness for self-sacrifice.

There are infinite ways to demonstrate one's heroic qualities. People who protect others from phsical danger may be obvious ones, but there's plenty of other heroes too--you may not notice them as much, but heroes tend not to draw attention to themselves, they just do it because it's right.

Anyone, and maybe even everyone, can be a true hero.

A modern hero would be someone who has the courage to do what others won't.

Modern heroes can be either male or female. Heroes in the past were usually male. You can have females like Meg Ryan's character in "Courage Under Fire" where she stayed behind to lay ground fire so the helicopter to could take off.

A modern hero doesn't always have to be someone who is the most athletic, muscular, or moral. Sometimes heroes can come from the most unlikely places.

There's a saying, "The world doesn't give you the heroes you want. It gives you the heroes you need."

Some people actually shine during times where there is strife. When things are at their worst, people are at their best. It's the people who step forward and take a stand.

Sometimes stepping forward and taking a stand won't make a dent in the System, but sometimes it can inspire others by igniting an ideal.

It's just like Liam Neeson said in "Batman Begins" where a person transforms himself into an idea. Modern heroes can symbolize an ideal.

It's through ideals that Heroes can achieve Immortality and where the transcend the Physical Realm. Ideas can live for centuries long after their creator who conceived the idea is gone.

Heroes who embrace Truth, Justice, and the best that Humanity has to offer are embracing ideals. Those ideals make up who they are.

A Modern hero would be able to balance Passion (Red), Justice (White), and Knowledge (Blue) in order to achieve balance.

Passion is what drives the person. Justice gives them a Moral Compass. Knowledge ensures that the Moral Compass is pointing in the right direction.

Passion and Justice (Red + White) would be a White Knight that means well, but without Justice, that Hero may think he's doing things for a good cause, but he could be misled.

Passion and Knowledge (Red + Blue) is having Power and being passionate. However, whatever the person is passionate about may not always be in the best interest of Humankind and could be self-serving. A Modern hero would be above that.

Justice and Knowledge (White + Blue) would be knowing what the right thing to do is. However, without Passion, it's where people just sit around and talk about what the right thing to do is without actually doing it. As Buddha said, "To know and not to do is not to know at all."

If you want to make a 5-Color Scheme where you add Nature (Green) and Anarchy/Death (Black), that's the addition of "God" (Green) and Self (Black).

There are times where sometimes you have to get away from Justice (White) and Knowledge (Green) and do what's instinctually right. If you don't have Knowledge at your disposal, you rely on instinct.

Black or Self would seem like a trait that no hero would possess, but sometimes a little bit of Black/Self is necessary to keep from becoming a doormat. A Modern Hero knows how to add just a little bit of self-interest and self-preservation to be around at the right time.

As they say, "Only the Good Die Young." That White Knight Scenario can come in where all the really good people don't have enough sense to be realistic when it comes to Self-Preservation and end up going extinct.

A Modern Hero needs a little bit of black. In fact, Ego can sometimes be a subtle motivator. When people claim to do Good Deeds for human kind, sometimes there's an underlying need to wax one's own ego knowing that they're doing something for the right cause so that they can feel good about themselves, which is in a roundabout way is an egotistical form of altruism.

A Modern Hero is especially seen in people who do what's in the best interest of people even when the people they're trying ot save don't understand why the Modern Hero is doing it.

It's one thing to be praised by people who are aware you're trying to save them. The higher calling of of a Modern Hero is saving people who don't realize they're in danger and cast out the Modern Hero who's trying to save them.

You see hints of this in the movie "Spider-Man" where the Green Goblin points out that the the Path of the Hero is ultimately doomed because even after all you've done for the people you're trying to save, they'll want to see you fail.

Spider-Man's answer was that "it's the right thing to do." Even when you know that you're doomed. That's how you get a Martyr or a Jesus Christ Complex bearing a Proverbial Cross while people take on the role of Conceptual Jews laughing and jeering at the Modern Hero who is, in fact, doing things to save them.
