I agree that we had apart inhis death and he was a great mid, but....he also killed many a people along the way, some of them innocent. You're just too smart to fall for lifestyle politics. Che has been embedded into counter culture for so long that his original message/symbolism is meaningless.
If you smoke dope and have rage against anything you need a Che T-shirt.
Congrats for not buying into communistic memes.
Now I must go snuggle under my Dick Cheney sheets.
(Also, communism has been good for noone--except the despotic power hounds who run these types of states. It's a theory that totally failed real world applications. Do you see China becoming more capitalistic? Even if they do have death vans.)

ernesto guevara (che) was a hero for the people because he cared about the people. Communism sounded great to him because its great for all people. he just wasn't counting on the unwillingness of people to help each other. he did kill people but for a good cause in his mind. that said, i agree with you that we should not idolize him. he was responsible for the death of millions of people and partially for the opression in cuba. i just wanted to give you the otherside of the argument. for a better idea of why he's so popular check out the movie "motorcycle diaries." its slightly fictionalized but it is a good movie and helps show where che got his ideals from.

People like him because he was part of the Argentinian resistance of Juan Peron...and the fact that he was played by Antonio Banderas doesn't hurt him any.
