Try to relax when you talk to him. Compliment him on his shirt or his hair. Ask him what music he likes, in other words, show an interest in him as a friend. Don't be too flirty or he may think you are immature or slutty. No nicknames...maybe way later in the relationship.

Touching his arm or back during the conversation would be a good hint to drop. It also helps to look into his eyes for about two seconds at a time. If you don't have anything to talk about, just ask him questions that cannot be answered "yes" or "no." I would avoid nicknames if I were you, because lots of people hate nicknames that are given to them. I am a guy who has been asked by a lot of girls. Us guys usualy dont like nicknames too much lol. Ti flirt, I would just tell him how nice his smile is or mabe how his jeans fit nice :). Then mabe do that homework thing, and study on something together.. Then you get to find out how he is when he isnt talking to his buddies.

I would not use nicknames. Just be friendly and see what develops. If I were he, I'd be pleased that someone is paying attention. If things develop, ask him out for an ice cream date or some other innocuous activity.
