I am pretty much doing my dream job. I am a foodservice account manager, think of me as a one man territory marketing/public relations department that represents very well known branded food items to foodservice operators

How did I find this, well basically I happened upon it by accident. I responded to an add for a cell phone provider sales job and this just sort of fell into my lap.

The beauty of this job is that it is the culmination of so many things that I like to do and would probably do anyway, whether in this field or not.

I enjoy people, I get paid to meet with a certain number of people each day. I enjoy food, I represent or have represented some of the biggest food companies in the world. I love to drive, I cover a territory approx 180 miles long by 60 miles wide. I like to win, I win over new business all of the time. I like to make money, I do this all of the time as well.

I guess what I am trying to say is that you should make a list of the things you like to do and then try to match them up to a job that incorporates as many of these things as possible.

Good luck

Don't let anyone pressure you into making a decision on your job at this point. I had no clue what I wanted to do when I was in high school.

Yes, I am in a dream job now, but didn't get there until I was 27. (I started a business).

My advice is to think about what you enjoy doing the most and are the most passionate about. Make sure it is realistic.

Keep in mind that most people that decide to go onto college after high school still don't have a clue what they want to do even in their 2nd and 3rd year.

I am employed at my dream job..I am a wildlife biologist, but did not get this job until I was in my 30's. Took many years of schooling and hard work! Maybe you should start out at a community college and take lots of different types of classes to see what interests you most before you decide on a major. Don't panic...you are still young, you have plenty of time to figure out what you want to do with your life. Keep in mind that most students change majors several times before they finally settle on something. You might think about having a minor as well as a major to have something to fall back on. Good Luck.

Well, just think about yourself. What do you like to do that you are not going to be bored from it 10 years down the road. What are you good in school? Does making a lot of maney sounds appealing to you while being happy? Would you be happy doing the samething for the next 20 years? These are some of the questions you should ask yourself. What or who do like to be, ideally? Doctor, lawyer, politician, banker, manager in any business, engineer, scienctist, chemist, physicist, musician, artist, nurse, dentist or dental assistant, secretary, bus driver, pschiatrist, policeman, ect, ect,ect.... the list can go on.

i'm doing a job i love. i'm a guitar teacher, and i get to share my love of music and knowledge with kids. its pretty awesome to see a kid come into the store, and i help him pick out an instrument, and watch them excited to learn something. this is the first and only job i've had where i've never sat down and thought "i dont get paid enough for this". i never even THINK about money unless its time to pay the bills for the month.

the real trick is to think of what your favorite thing to do is, and get a job thats as close to that as possible. pick whats right for you, and take your time. ignore the pressure from the teachers.
