While walking to work today, I didnt notice that fresh cement had been poured on the sidewalk. When I did notice it, by then it was too late. My brand new trouser pants had sunk about two inches in the cement. I now need to find a way to remove the cement from my pants without ruining the material. The pants are 100% silk, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You can't cement forms a chemical bond and has destroyed some of the silk underneath.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but you wont be able to save the pants. exspecially if they are silk, you might try taking them to a seamstress and having the material made into something else.

Buy new pants and throw the ruined one away. My husband says soak it in vinegar and water and soak it for a long time if that doesn't work I say throw it away and that will be a good reason for you to go shopping! yeah!!!

On silk probably never. A dry cleaner is your besr shot. If you did not soak them right away they will come back with a chalk type of stain.

I'd try freezing the pants and then using a hammer and banging them on a hard surface to break it all loose.

um, washing it immediately in water and vinegar. if it isn't "immediately" any more, forget it, it's too late.
